This is just a quick post if you ever need to know the update history for Microsoft Office 365.
This listings include information about dates, what was updates on each update channel, etc
Everyday more and more IT Professionals are getting in touch with something called Microsoft 365. And no, this is not Office 365, or better said, it’s not ONLY Office 365. It’s really more than that.
In fact…it’s a lot more than that!
Microsoft 365 it’s a large number of software solutions, almost all relying in the cloud, that allows users and IT Professionals to take advantage of the always connected world, making users get more productive everywhere but also allowing IT Administrators to manage users and devices…everywhere.
That’s one of the major benefits of Microsoft 365.
In this first post, I would like to share a Microsoft video that introduces some of the features available and the big picture of Microsoft 365. It’s a video about Windows and Office modern deployment but shows a lot of Microsoft 365 experience:

After years of basically using the same tools, architectures and methods, Microsoft decide that the technology, and its flagship products (Windows and Office) were mature enough in a way that allows the change to a different approach to enterprise management.
There’s also the new world paradigm about security and the all-connected things that represents a new challenge to every IT admin.
This is why Microsoft 365 (M365) was created.
A complete end-to-end solution that and a new world of learning for the IT departments.
A new way to manage things, a set of new skills to learn, a new approach that when well implemented can be a dream for every IT department.
This is not an easy journey, for sure, and I’m also taking the first steps on it but from my perspective, I see a lot of things that will finally allow me to get a real in depth knowledge about my infrastructure.

Because you may need to create a new source installation of your Microsoft Office and gather all the necessary security updates, here’s a quick tip extract all *.exe Office updates to the Updates sources folder.
This is particularly useful because most of the time you’ll download the updates on *.exe format and has you may know, the automated install will look for *.msp files inside the Updates folder instead.
So, here are the necessary steps to do it:
For this example we’ll use the folder D:\Temp\10\Office where you’ll put all your downloaded *.exe files and you should create also D:\Temp\10\Office\Updates where the files will be extracted.
And you’re done!
After deploying Windows 10 v1709 (Fall Creators Update) and when opening an Excel spreadsheet I’ve noticed a strange behavior where even on a blank spreadsheet the mouse cursor seemed to flicker all the time.
Thought it was something related with my display driver so I’ve updated to a different one and still the same behavior. It’s something like the video below.
