Microsoft Cloud Computing – VMs in the Cloud

Last month, Joshua Hoffman from Microsoft wrote down an very interesting article about the new beta service in Windows Azure.

The new virtualization role on Windows Azure takes the Cloud to a further step. Now you can create you Virtual Machine on your Hyper-V and then upload it to Azure.
Joshua talks about some things that you need to adjust before you create and upload your virtual machine.

Windows 8 – Hyper-V 3.0 Included!

A virtual machine per machine, seems to be the new feature discovered.

Although some months ago, a person told me that I would be glad to see that Hyper-V could be part of the next Windows version, it looks like that it’s now “official” that it’s really true!

On the most recent Windows 8 leak, which is a x64 version, It seems we can active the Hyper-V feature through the Turn Windows Features on or off menu.
A new extension for the virtual hard disk, VHD (*.vhdx) it’s also available.

Looks like Microsoft it’s really wanting to expand It’s virtualization technology everywhere!
Let’s see where it gets it.

Windows 8 – Build 797x Showing a New OOBE (rumor)

OOBE (Out-of-Box Experience) may be change with Windows 8

OOBE it’s the initial screens during the Windows setup where you are asked about username, password, computer name, etc.
Now Microsoft seems to have abandoned the Aero style interface on the OOBE to show a media-center-like interface.

The rumor says this interface it’s still “locked” in a hidden file on Windows directory. So, maybe some Google search about it, could give us some clues.

So here are more screenshots taken by a user called Chris123NT.

Windows 8 – Installing Using a USB Drive

Like Windows 7 previously did, Windows 8 can also be installed through an USB Drive.

The website Windows 8 Geek, a website dedicated to Windows 8 leaks, tools and a lot of information about the upcoming version of Windows, has created a tutorial about this.

Windows 8 – New Video From Computex

After the first demonstration of Windows 8 at Computex, Microsoft at All Things D showed a little more of the future operation system.

Microsoft’s Kinect Coming to PC

If WinRumors it’s right, Kinect should be available to PCs since today.

Although we’ve already seen some implementation of Kinect on PCs, Microsoft should launch today the offical Kinect SDK.
The launch of this SDK will take part on Microsoft Channel 9 website, the official channel for Microsoft’s technical events.

From the same source, this SDK should include one or two bodies recognition, voice commands and the tridimensional vision of the space.
